A recording of the webinar is available below.

Thursday 30 June 2016, 14:00 CEST / 12:00 UTC

The two most comprehensive studies on the Solar Heating and Cooling Sector were published in early June 2016: REN21’s the Renewables 2016 Global Status Report (GSR2016) from REN21 and Solar Heat Worldwide from the IEA Solar Heating and Cooling programme (IEA SHC). This webinar will highlight the key data and findings of these two studies looking at new installations, prospering applications, market barriers, industry trends, costs of solar heat and jobs.

The webinar is jointly organised by REN21 Secretariat and IEA SHC, the Technology Collaboration Programme of the International Energy Agency. Three expert panellist speakers presented during the 1.5 hours seminar:

Rana Adib , Research Coordinator of the REN21 Secretariat, highlights the status of renewable energies based on GSR 2016.

Werner Weiss, Director of the Austrian Institute AEE INTEC and co-author of the study Solar Heat Worldwide, shares the key data on solar heating and cooling from the Solar Heat Worldwide study on added capacity, prospering applications, jobs and costs.

Bärbel Epp, News Editor of solarthermalworld.org and author of the GSR section Solar Heating and Cooling Market and Industry Trends, presents recent developments in the industry and policy.

The webinar was moderated by Nigel Cotton, Programme Director at the European Copper Institute and initiator of solarthermalworld.org.
