Nalsun is the dominating technology when it comes to coating copper fins in India. Developed by the National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) in Bengaluru in 1988, it uses a black-chrome, nano-thin coating, which conforms to BIS 12933, with an absorption rate of > 95 % and an emission rate of < 20 %. After two years of intensive R&D, Maharaja Techno Chromes has finally succeeded to achieve almost the same results on aluminium fins. NAL tested one of the company’s aluminium-coated parts and confirmed that the absorption and the emissivity of the aluminium fin are close to that of copper.
“We are now beginning to market our product and have already coated around 38,000 m2,” Dinesh Jain, owner of Maharaja Techno Chromes, says. “Because aluminium is produced directly in the country, supply will not be an issue”. In addition, customers profit from the lower price of aluminium sheets compared to copper.
