PVT collectors were a major topic at the Eurosun conference held in mid-September in Freiburg, Germany. Three sessions featured presentations on new developments and projects in the field. Particularly valuable […]
What better way to celebrate 50 years of international research collaboration than with an evening of inspiring stories, good company, and a special birthday cake? At EuroSun mid-September, the IEA […]
Solar air collectors for building façades were first developed in Canada 37 years ago. Two of the industry’s pioneers are Conserval Engineering and Matrix Energy. Today, solar air collectors are […]
The number of experienced suppliers in the solar heat for industrial processes (SHIP) sector continues to grow. By the end of 2025, 23 companies had installed more than ten SHIP […]
PVT collectors can make highly efficient heat sources for heat pumps, but they also create special technical challenges. Unlike conventional heat sources such as ambient air or shallow geothermal energy, […]
The project pipeline of solar industrial heat developers is robust and expanding. For the Solar Industrial Heat Outlook 2026–2028, developers reported 65 projects with a weighted capacity of 223 MW. […]
In 2025, solar heat for industrial processes (SHIP) continued to be deployed across a broad range of industrial sectors, as illustrated in the chart above. Drying processes and barn heating […]
Medium-temperature solar collector systems for industrial heat are becoming increasingly established. Companies in the food and pharmaceutical sectors in particular are increasingly turning to solar thermal energy to decarbonize their […]
Switzerland isn’t exactly known for cost-effective production conditions. That makes it all the more remarkable that a receiver manufacturer based in Renens, near Lausanne in western Switzerland, claims to produce […]
The newly started IEA Solar Heating and Cooling Programme Task 75 on Thermal Energy Storage Material aims at taking the successes of previous task work and making them accessible for […]
