Dear Solarthermalworld.org Reader,
“It
is a challenge these days to organise a general assembly in the market
situation that we are in,” Robin Welling, President of the European
Solar Thermal industry Federation (ESTIF), said in an interview with
Solarthermalworld.org. The European solar thermal market will again
shrink this year by around 9%, according to a first ESTIF survey. The
good news: The Association of the European Heating Industry (EHI) and
ESTIF have joined forces in a newly founded working group called
European Solar Thermal Energy Standardisation & Certification
(ESTESC) to tackle urgent technical issues, such as CE Marking, Global
Certification or Eco-labelling/Eco-design. The President reminded
everyone that it is a “groundbreaking fact that solar thermal is the
only technology to be enabled to obtain the A+++ label”. The photo shows
one of the workshops at the office of BSW Solar before the general
assembly took place.
Best regards,
