SDH Conference
The 5th International Solar District Heating Conference will take place in Graz, Austria, between 11 and 12 April 2018. A preliminary programme has already been available (see the attached document). The city of Graz, a pioneer and leader in the integration of solar thermal into district heating networks, will be a fitting choice for this international event. The schedule will include technical tours of nearby district heating sites, such as a 7,750 m² solar district heating plant which monitors the output of 6 types of collectors and can be visited in the afternoon on 11 April. SASEC 2018, the 5th Southern African Solar Energy Conference, will be held in the Blue Waters Hotel in Durban, South Africa, from 25 to 27 June 2018. The conference will cover all three solar technologies, namely solar heat, solar photovoltaics and CSP. Papers can be submitted until 22 January. The conference will be organised by the Centre for Renewable and Sustainable Energy Studies at Stellenbosch University and is supported by the Group for Solar Energy Thermodynamics at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. See this link for more information.
The Eurosun International Conference on Solar Energy for Buildings and Industry, which took place on the Spanish island of Mallorca in 2016, will be held in Rapperswil, Switzerland, from 10 to 13 September this year. The biennial event will again be organised by ISES, the International Solar Energy Society, while the host in 2018 will be HSR, the University of Applied Sciences Rapperswil. Papers can be submitted until 28 February. Authors can choose one of several topics, which include solar buildings, solar DHC, SHIP, PVT, solar cooling, thermal storage, testing & certification and solar education. For more information, please see this link.
The 8th edition of the International Conference on Solar Air Conditioning (SAC) is organised in conjunction with Eurosun. Papers can be still submitted until 28 February 2018. For more information, please see this link.
ISEC, the International Sustainable Energy Conference, is a new event at the Congress Graz venue in Graz, Austria. Its organiser, research institute AEE INTEC, has combined two conferences – Gleisdorf Solar and ökoSan – to form ISEC, with the intent to promote innovative renewable hybrid solutions and resource-efficient energy systems from 3 to 5 October this year. The focus will be on renewable heating and cooling integrated into urban and industrial settings. The call for papers will start on 23 January. You can find out more about it here.
Solar Thermal Symposium
An event tailored specifically to German-speaking experts is the Solar Thermal Energy Symposium, which will take place in the former Banz monastery in Bad Staffelstein, Germany, from 13 to 15 June 2018.
