Dear Solarthermalworld.org Reader,
Vicot
Solar Technology is one of 71 planners of SHIP (Solar Heat for
Industrial Processes) systems depicted on the World Map of Solar Process
Heat Specialists 2017. The photo shows Vicot’s 3,255 m² parabolic
trough collector field at Siemens subsidiary Trench High Voltage
Products. It provides heat at 150 °C for processes in the electronics
factory of the Chinese-based business and is additionally used in winter
for space heating of the 33,000 m² office and the production
facilities. All in all, SHIP suppliers reported 389 reference systems
for the world map. Comparing this information with the data on ship-plants.info
will reveal a total of 525 plants in operation today. Their combined
collector or mirror area adds up to at least 416,414 m² for SHIP
applications around the world. It is a surprisingly large figure and
indicates that solar heat is used more often in industry than many had
assumed.
Have a good read and sunny regards
