Solar Water Heating Systems in Developing Countries (2004)

Submitted by Todd Costello on March 16, 2010

This document was prepared by the Sustainable Energy Policy Concepts (SEPCo) to analyze the presence of solar hot water systems in developing countries around the world.

For many developing countries, solar water heating is still a new technology for several reasons. For some countries, hot water supply is not a demand in many countries, and no income generating uses in the first place are two big barriers the countries face.

The break down these factors, as well as others, and draw conclusions what solar water heating could best be used for in developing countries, mainly houses and businesses of the wealthier, which could still have a positive effect on the environment and resources.
