Solar Summit Freiburg 2012 is the International Conference on Highlights and Trends in Solar Energy, taking place from 18-19 October in Freiburg, Germany. It will give participants a comprehensive overview of the latest achievements and state of the art of all major technologies in solar energy conversion. Energy transition creates major challenges, and cities and municipalities must play a key role in finding solutions. How can local authorities contribute to making the necessary energy transition? This year's Solar Summit is devoted to this important question, and will feature the special topic "The Future Sustainable City". 

Solar Summits Freiburg is a series of international solar conferences, taking place for the fifth time. International experts and top-class speakers from the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE, will address a professional audience. The conference is hosted by the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems, ISE. The conference chairman, Prof. Eicke R. Weber, Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Freiburg, sets a high value on communication and networking possibilities during the conference. Following each lecture and of course during the breaks there will be sufficient time for questions and discussions between presenters and participants.
