The United States expends large amount of energy on air conditioning for residential and commercial buildings every year, and solar thermal air conditioning currently makes up a small fraction of this. Of the 22 projects that this presentation focuses on, 7 uses flat plate technology, and 15 are less than 5 years old. Total installed capacity in the US for solar thermal air conditioning in 2010 was 704 tons, according to the presentation. The presentation ends with photos and descriptions of solar thermal air conditioning installations.
