This presentation from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, discusses solar thermal energy, specifically how it pertains to the US and its potential in the future. The presentation starts with the science behind solar energy and then delves into graphs and charts that demonstrate its potential in the market and where it fits in the broader scope of the US’ energy demands.
In the second half of the presentation, the possibilities of solar thermal energy are explained even further. With sections on Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) and Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC), this presentation touches on many different variables that are making solar thermal energy more efficient than ever. It wraps up with policy and incentive initiatives that the government has put in place to promote the use of solar thermal energy.
