The International Copper Association, Ltd. (ICA) is the leading organization for promoting the use of copper worldwide. ICA increases awareness and usage of copper by communicating the unique attributes that make this sustainable element an essential contributor to the formation of life, to advances in science and technology, and to a higher standard of living throughout the world.

The Association’s 38 member companies represent about 80 percent of the world’s refined copper output and are among the largest copper producers, copper alloy fabricators, and wire and cable companies in the world.

Headquartered in New York, ICA has regional offices in Brussels, Santiago, New York, and Singapore. ICA’s programs and initiatives are executed in more than 50 countries through its regional offices and 31 copper promotion centers.

ICA’s mission is “to promote the use of copper by communicating the unique attributes that make this sustainable element an essential contributor to the formation of life, to advances in science and technology, and to a higher standard of living worldwide.” The association was formed in 1989 by 24 of the world’s leading primary copper producers to coordinate and improve the effectiveness of the international market development, research, and technology activities of the industry. The association evolved from the International Copper Research Association (INCRA), established in 1960.
