Germany: Cost reduction, labeling and new materials are topics of SMEThermal 2012
The global breakthrough of solar thermal will depend on how well the industry masters the challenge of cost-effective tank and collector manufacturing. This is the key issue of the 3rd SMEThermal conference on 7 February 2012 in Berlin, Germany. The international event is dedicated exclusively to process optimization, automation, and new materials in the solar thermal industry. The organizer, Berlin-based Solarpraxis, launched the complete programme at the end of October (see attached pdf).
Well-known industry representatives from eleven different countries confirmed their participation as speakers or panellists - among them BDR Thermea, Greenonetec, Kingspan, Hydro, Ariston, Narva, Roth Group, Watt and Tsinghua Solar Systems.
The SMEThermal 2012 hot topic list includes:
- costs reduction potential along the value chain
- implementation of the eco design directive in the industry
- quality of metal and glass coatings
- collector certification across the world
- design concepts and production technologies of polymer tanks
For the first time, an Innovation Forum highlights the latest developments in automated absorber production, be it horizontal bending, extruded aluminium absorbers and alternative bonding technologies.
SMEThermal addresses key players from the solar thermal manufacturing business - among others, material suppliers, specialists in automation and production technology, and manufacturers of collectors, absorbers and tanks. More than 160 participants from all over the world are expected to participate.
The early bird registration ends at the 15th of December and the participation fee is 20 % lower. ESTIF members benefit from an additional reduction. Online registration is possible at http://www.solarpraxis.de/en/conferences/smethermal-2012/registration-fees/
