The Canadian Solar Thermal Hot Water Industry (2010)

This presentation was created by Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA). It provides information on the current state of the Canadian Solar Thermal Hot Water Industry and lays out a roadmap for even further development and advancement of the industry.
In 2010, the Canadian solar thermal industry had over 400 positions in the labor force and had seen growth in export sales of 100% since 2004. The industry is arguing against reduction in investment by the government of Canada in solar thermal as it has a negative effect on the market and would reduce the positive benefits of a thriving domestic solar thermal industry. Moving forward the industry hopes to see the introduction of a new residential program for new construction and the extension of the ecoENERGY incentive for commercial buildings.
